TRACKS AND SHADOWS |
Friday, 8:30 AM. -1.5 degrees, wind calm, sky partly cloudy with high thin white and gray clouds. The barometer predicts snow but I would guess not. There was a bite in the air this morning, particularly on bare skin, but otherwise in was quite pleasant.
The reports are that the sled dog races were their usual success and the weather was better than usual for viewing. The Blue Moon Ball is Saturday night; always something going on. Boats in winter are rather fascinating, sort of like seeing an ice berg out of the water. The steel fishing tugs are usually left to freeze in for the winter, as are the ferryboats. Sailboats are typically stored out of the water on a cradle. Smaller boats are stored in back yards on trailers.
