A QUIET CARNIVAL AND A GIANT HAMBURGER

THERE WAS A CARNIVAL AT RED CLIFF ON LABOR DAY WEEKEND
BUT IT WAS PRETTY QUIET ON SUNDAY...
...INCLUDING THE EVENING
Monday, 8:30 AM: Happy Labor Day.  59 degrees F at the ferry dock, 57 o the back porch.  We had a rainstorm again last night, it is getting to be a regular occurrence.  Wind W, mostly calm with light gusts  The sky is overcast, the barometer steady at 29.78".  The high today will be 68, cooling to highs of aroud 60 Tuesday and Wednesday, with chances of rain again.
After church yesterday we drove up to Red Cliff to see what was going on at their carnival: not much, from the looks of it at noon.
Sunday evening we met old friends who were in town at the casino for dinner:  again not much going on.
The casino food can be pretty good, particularly the everyday fare such as burgers.  Against my better judgement I ordered a classic burger with cheese, bacon and all the trimmings.  It must have weighed a full pound.  It was great.
I spent all evening contemplating what a rattlesnake must feel like after swallowing a rabbit.  Indians guys like to eat, and you won't go hungry when they are doing the cooking.
