THE BIG BLUE TENT |
THE MICHAEL FELDMAN SHOW |
SHERMAN AND MICHAEL |
FULL TENT |
NEIGHBORS MIKE, SHERMAN AND JANE |
Sunday, 7:30 AM. 64 degrees, wind WSW, calm. The sky is partly cloudy and it rained a bit on our morning walk. The barometer predicts rain but it will be the same weather as yesterday, a bit cloudy with a chance of showers, overall quite pleasant.
We had some unexpected fun yesterday. National Public Radio’s “Whadya know?” hosted by Michael Feldman broadcast from the Chatauqua tent just outside of Bayfield, and neighbor and ferryboat captain Sherman Edwards was a guest. Sherman related some pretty good seafaring yarns, and went on at some length about the house that sank in the channel a few years back as it was being moved on the ice road from Bayfield to Madeline Island. We only found out about the show Friday evening when Jane came over with reserved seat tickets. The tent was packed and the parking lot full, and the radio show of course was great national exposure for the city and Chequamegon Bay region.
The bears were out in force this morning, two big fellows crossing Ninth Street into the woods on the west side of the street, between Wilson and Mannypenny. I wasn’t quick enough to take a photo, and I don’t think Lucky even saw them, or wasn’t interested, which was a good thing.
