LOAD UP FOR MADELINE ISLAND... |

...ONLY WAY TO GET THERE... |

..AND IT'S OFF TO THE ISLAND |
Sunday, 9:00 AM. 41 degrees F, wind WSW, calm to very light. The sky is partly overcast and there are some high, slow moving, puffy white clouds floating by. It is a very calm, spring-like morning, filled with robin song. The humidity has fallen to 75%, and the barometer is down a bit at 29.92". The snow will continue to melt today, which is good, as an awful lot of it remains on the north side of the roof.
The Ice Road is closed, due to bad driving conditions, and the big wind sled is in service. Snowmobiles are still actively going across the ice. I'm guessing this warm weather, predicted for all of the coming week, will be the end of the ice road, whether the ice remains thick enough to support vehicular traffic or not.
