Friday, 8:30 AM. 50 degrees F, wind NW, light with moderate gusts. The sky is cloudy and overcast, and everything is wet after another .25" of rain falling last night. The barometer is pretty steady, and now stands at 29.53". Hopefully the predicted rain will hold off until tonight.
We still have some heavy balled and burlapped white pine and a few other trees to plant on the job that was strted yesterday afternoon, but it will be done by noon today if it doesn't rain again.
Applefest is officially open, most of the vender booths being set up during the night. The carnival was opened yesterday evening even though the weather was inclement. Applefest weather is always iffy, but the crowds come anyway. It usually is nice for the Sunday parade, which is my main concern, as it is a bit of work to get the truck decorated.
