MEANWHILE, OUT IN THE BARRENS...
Wednesday, 8:30 AM. 49 degrees F, wind variable with occasional strong gusts. The sky is partly cloudy to overcast, the humidity is 84% and the barometer is trending down, currently at 29.92". I looks likely rain latter.
Set-up for Applefest is proceeding apace, with 9th St. designated no parking on both sides for a through route around downtown, which will be effectively designated no parking except for paid parking lots. there is free parking outside town, with free shuttles to the activities. City streets are narrow, so parking is restricted to one side of the street in most places.
What would a small town festival be without a carnival, with rides and side shows? It is being set up now and will be in full swing on Friday, as will all the vender booths downtown. The parade is on Sunday afternoon. Hope for good weather. I will have my usual "Bayfield in Bloom" truckload of flowers in the parade again this year.
Meanwhile, all is peaceful on the woodland trails out in the barrens a few miles outside of town.
