Monday, 8:00 AM.  Wind WSW, with light gusts.  The sky is clear and it is a fine morning.The humidity is 84%, and the barometer starting to trend down, currently at 30.47".  Snow is predicted for tomorrow.
   The weather turned nice yesterday afternoon, so we decided to take the Ice Road to Madeline Island and have a burger at the Bell Street Tavern, which has always had good food.  The road was bumpy but O.K. if one did not exceed the 15 MPH speed limit.  I was going to find out just how long the Ice Road is from Bayfield to Madeline Island but forgot to set the odometer.
   Once on the Island we drove around it on Hwy. H but found little of interest, as                                                                       most everything was closed, and the Bell Street Tavern up for sale.
   We came back across the Ice Road and had lunch, which was very good indeed, at the Bayfield Inn, which has the best views of the harbor and the Ice Road in town.  The hotel desk clerk said they were booked solid for weeks, hosting visitors who are coming to see the Ice Caves.
