THE WINTER SCENE WILL STILL LAST A LONG WHILE

A GRAY, UNCERTAIN MORNING

CHEQUAMEQON BAY

LONG ISLAND, WITH ASHLAND AND PENOKE RANGE IN THE DISTANCE
Sunday, 10:00 AM CDST.  32 degrees F at the Ferry Dock, 28 on the back porch.  Wind SW, light with stronger gusts.  The sky has a high overcast.  The humidity is 75% and the barometer is more-or -less steady at 30.00".  It is an uncertain day.
Bayfield has been filled with visitors to the Ice Caves and the annual Winter Festival, and the Ice Road has had a lot of traffic.
We saw four deer crossing Fish Hatchery Road yesterday around 3:00 PM.  We haven't seen many deer as yet.
The weather may be warming, but the ice on Chequamegon Bay is thick and won't be melting for well over a month.  The winter scene will still last a long while..
