THE US HWY.2 ROADSIDE "SCULPTURE GARDEN"... |
...HAS A NEW ADDITION |
Wednesday, 8:00 AM. 45 degrees F at the ferry dock, 42 on the back porch. Wind WSW, calm at present. The sky is cloudy and overcast but looks like it will clear. The humidity is 98% after a foggy afternoon and evening yesterday. The barometer is falling, now at 29.94", predicting rain tomorrow evening.
There is a new addition to the "sculpture garden" on US Hwy. 2, just east of Brule, Wisconsin. It is a monumental axe, stuck in a monumental stump. I have no idea whether the chair, fishing pole, or arrow already displayed are serious art or tongue in cheek art work. Likewise I have no idea whether the axe and stump are serious art, although all appear well done. I have certainly seen much worse, whether serious or comedic, roadside art.
At this point I will just point out that it is all there, growing in scope, and certainly worth slowing down for, and taking a long look.
