A BEAUTIFUL ROADSIDE MAKES THE TRIP EASY

HWY 2 BETWEEN ASHLAND AND SUPERIOR,  COLORFUL ALL THE WAY...
...BIRD'S FOOT TREFOIL AND SWEET CICILY
Wednesday, 8:45 AM.  Sixty degrees F at the ferry dock, 60 on the back porch. Wind ENE, light with slightly stronger gusts.  The sly is partly cloudy, the humidity 92%.  The barometer is rising sharply.  Highs today and tomorrow will be around 60, with chances of thunderstorms.  Highs will be in the high 70's thereafter with mixed skies and chances of rain for next week.
Our trip to Superior yesterday on US 2 was a real treat, the roadsides for sixty miles lined with bright yellow birds foot trefoil and great swaths of white sweet cicily.  These colorful plants are all adventive, the trefoil growing where nothing else will along the roadside.  In places yellow buttercup and daisies were added to the mix.
A beautiful roadside makes the trip easy.
