RETTENHOUSE AVENUE LAMP POSTS ARE DECORATED TOO

Monday, 9:00 AM.  56 degrees, wind S, calm.  The sky is clear but a bit hazy and the barometer predicts rain, perhaps by tonight. Yesterday was probably one of the last pleasant sailing days, and a few boats were out, this one seen from Catholic Hill.
The Bayfield Chamber of Commerce sponsors a scarecrow contest every fall in anticipation of the season  and Applefest (Oct. 7, 8 and 9 this year).  It starts with a scarecrow workshop and the distribution of straw for stuffing the scarecrows.  There are several categories and prizes are awarded.  It is all a lot of fun and adds much to the fall season,  Applefest and  Halloween.
I will present some of the scarecrows that have caught my eye in today’s blog and perhaps tommorrows, no further commentary being necessary.
