CONFUSING THE ROOSTERS, AND PARAPHRASING DOROTHY

MASKED WEAVER BIRD IN AN ACACIA TREE

SSOUTH AFRICA (LOOKS A LOT LIKE TEXAS)

PRETORIA...

...DITTO (NOT DALLAS)
Sunday,  8:45 AM CST.  36 degrees F, up from freezing earlier. The rosy dawn showed some promise, but the morning remains mostly cloudy, and everything is wet from the melting frost.  The humidity is 88% but the barometer is up to 30.22", promising better weather.  The Farmers' Almanac predicts cold, dry weather for the Great Lakes November 4th through the 7th, and just now, the sun came surging  through the clouds.
Thank goodness Daylight Saving Time is at last ended for the year.  I pretty much wake up at dawn, and had  been sleeping later and later, and getting less and less done.  I wish they would do away with the whole thing, it does nothing but confuse us roosters.
Blog reader Doug Peterson has been teaching in a church school in the bush in South Africa, and sends the above photos.  The landscape looks suspiciously like Texas.
The last I heard from Doug he was going out to look for lions.  To paraphrase Dorothy, "I have a feeling we're not in Texas anymore, Toto".
