ELECT THE TULIPS...THEY'LL DO AS THEY PROMISE

RECORD TURNOUT AT BAYFIELD'S POLLING PLACE

PLANTING TULIPS IN THE SLEET
Wednesday, 8:15 AM.  36 degrees F at the ferry dock, 33 on the back porch.  Wind W, light.  The sky is mostly cloudy but clearing, the humidity is 67% and the barometer is rising, now at 30.03".
We voted yesterday, and helped re-elect Republican Governor Scott Walker, who can now continue his job of returning a modicum of sanity to Wisconsin government.  We don't as yet know the fate of the other candidates for state and county office on the ballot, but are much relieved  by the national Republican sweep in Senate, Congress and governorships.  But all will be for naught if those elected ignore the wishes of the electorate.
We also planted several dozen tulips yesterday afternoon as a light rain turned to sleet.   We hope the politicians we voted for are as faithful in fulfilling their promises as the tulips will be.  At at the very least the later will show up for work in the spring and do their job.
