8/09/11 LILIES, HYDRANGEAS, AND A BEAR CUB IN THE PICKUP TRUCK

ORIENTAL LILIES

HYDRANGEAS

ITS BUZZ IS WORSE THAN ITS BITE
Tuesday, 8:00 AM.  63 degrees, wind WSW, light.  The sky is overcast and it is misting a bit.  We had thunder and a good light show over the Penokees to the south last night, but it was all bluster in Bayfield and only the porches and drive got wet.  The barometer predicts rain and it looks pretty likely but not for certain.
Asiatic lilies brighten the Bonney’s place on the corner of 8th and Manypenny, and Hydrangeas, like these on the corner of 9th and Manypenny, are blooming all over town.
A super large mosquito joined us at dinner yesterday, with a wingspan of almost two inches, a really delicate, beautiful thing.  I assume it is not a stinging species.
Neighbor Sam got a surprise yesterday morning when he unknowingly left for work with a bear cub in the bed of his pickup truck, that jumped out as he left the driveway. We all know that dogs love pickup trucks.  But bears? It was humorous except for the scratch marks where it got in and out.
