OPENING THE FREEZER DOOR, AND WORKING THE KINKS OUT.

A FRIGID BUT BEAUTIFUL BAYFIELD

GREETED BY BLOOMING AMARYLLIS
Thursday, 9:30 AM.  0 degrees F, wind N, calm with occasional gusts.  The sky is blue, the roads snow packed.  The humidity is 78% and the barometer high at 30.54".  It is a gorgeous, if frigid, day.
We got back from Texas yesterday and are gradually getting the kinks out of our road weary bodies.  It was a good trip back with only a little ice and snow, but when we got to Des Moines it was like stepping into a walk-in freezer and has remained so. We were greeted by blooming Amaryllis and thirsty house plants but all was in order.  I shoveled about five inches of snow to grt into the garage and about another eight had been removed while we were gone.
The ferry is still running but it has only a narrow path and it looks like it will be an early freeze-up.  I have a lot of snow removal to do all around the house; decks, porch, drive, walks, parking spaces.  That should work the kinks out.
