THE ICE ROAD SETS A RECORD

ONLY TEMPORARY

MY SENTIMENTS EXACTY!

Saturday,  8:30 AM.  15 degrees F at the Ferry Dock, 20 degrees on the back porch (the proximity to all that ice can make downtown pretty chilly).  The sky is clear, the sunshine strong. The humidity is 88% and the barometer has risen to 30.12".  It is a beautiful day after the storm.
The snow stopped by noon yesterday and most of Bayfield is now dug out and pretty well back to normal.  I have to get snow off some of the roof edges with the roof rake, but otherwise I will just let the rest melt.
The Ice Road was closed yesterday because of poor visibility and hazardous conditions, and the wind sled put into service, but I am told the road will reopen again, since the ice is still very thick. I am told that this winter's Ice Road has already broken the record for being open the longest.
There was a truck with Iowa license plates parked at the Ice Road approach that displayed the above signs in the back window. They are my sentiments exactly!
