NATIVE PUSSY WILLOW IN FULL BLOOM

AN INCREDIBLE SPRING MORNING

NATIVE PUSSY WILLOW IN FULL BLOOM...

...FLOWERS AT ALMOST FULL ANTHESIS...

...STAMENS SHEDDING THEIR BRIGHT YELLOW POLLEN
Monday, 7:45 AM.  47 degrees F at the Ferry Dock, 43 on the back porch.  The wind is NW, light with occasional stronger gusts. The sky is mostly clear except for clouds on the eastern horizon.  The humidity is 75%, after .2" of rain last night.  It is an incredible spring morning, the daffodils, tulips and many perennials starting to grow like corn on a hot summer day.
There is a nice native pussy willow (Salix interior) just outside of town on the west side of Hwy. 13 that I have been waiting to see come into full bloom, i.e., in full anthesis, the flower stamens yellow and shedding pollen.  I wrote about this willow in the post of March 24th.  I had not seen a pussy willow in full bloom locally as yet, it still being very early spring.
Yesterday was the day, it being very warm and sunny, that the willow's fuzzy flowers turned bright yellow.
