NO HUMMINGBIRDS AT THE FEEDER
Saturday, 7:30 AM. 56 degrees, wind W, calm. The sky is overcast, there is .8” of rain in the gage and the barometer predicts more. We were fortunate to complete my landscape jobs late yesterday afternoon before the rain started.
I believe the hummingbirds have left, as I have seen none this morning and they were still here a few days ago. A neighbor said the males have left and she has only seen females (and I suppose immature males). They will soon wing their way across the Gulf. Normally they are gone completely by September 15 and that is close upon us. They will return by next May 15th. What amazing little creatures!
