3/03/11 LONE EAGLE

LOOKS LIKE SNOW

A CONFIRMED BACHELOR, PERHAPS?
Thursday, 8:30 AM.  19.5 degrees, wind SW, light to moderate.  The sky is overcast with high gray clouds and it looks and feels like it might snow.
The eagles are mostly out on the Apostle Islands now, looking for mates.  They often sit on th ice, where they are highly visible, waiting for a member of the opposite sex.  So I don’t know what this mature lone eagle was doing sitting in a tree overhanging Torbeck Road in the orchard country.  A confirmed bachelor, perhaps?
The ice road is officially closed, but there's still plenty of traffic
