LUCKY IN THE SUGAR SHACK |
Tuesday, 8:00 AM. 68 degrees F, wind again WNW, light. the humidity is 78%, the barometer is rising and the sky is mostly clear with some high, puffy, almost stationary white clouds. It is again a beautiful, quiet morning that promises to mature into another nice summer day, perhaps a bit too warm by mid afternoon but not oppressively so.
Late yesterday afternoon we dropped in on Andy and Judy at their summer camp and were persuaded to stay for dinner (pork and veggie stir fry with sticky rice, courtesy of Chef Andy). It was a beautiful evening, very comfortable and not getting dark until 9:30 or latter.
It was the kind of qiet evening with friends our old pal Lucky, who left us late last year, would have enjoyed, which is why we buried him near the kitchen tent. I had to search among the blackberries, Coreopsis and Brown Eyed Susans for the stone that marks the spot where he lies, but that's fine with him, I am sure. Lucky was a very good dog.
My appologies to reader J. Keye, who had a nice philosophical comment on the photo of the RV, truck and ATV entourage a few days ago. He said things are not always what they seem, and perhaps the truck was pushing the RV. I tried to add more thoughts of my own, but somehow I pushed the wrong button and deleted Jake's comment and could not restore it. Indeed, things are not always what they seem.
