A NICE SUMMER DAY |
JANE, SHEMAN AND PEPPERMINT PATTY |
Monday, 8:00 AM. 65 degrees F, wind WNW, light. Humidity 70%, the barometer predicts partly cloudy skies, which are presently clear except for a few high, thin white clouds and some haze on the eastern horizon. It will be a nice summer day, maybe a little on the warm side.
There is a new pup on the block. Pebbles, Jane and Sherman’s little harrier (a slightly larger version of a beagle) died from complications of lime disease a few weeks ago and they felt a great need to have another dog as soon as they could find one that they liked. Pebbles was a fearless little dog, who would keep the bears out of the yard, chasing them into the woods and usually up a tree, where she would keep watch on them until called home.
So, meet Peppermint Patty, a mostly beagle cutie. Speaking of bears, last week one neighbor had a bear in his garage, and another had a big guy get into the garbage can in the kitchen. I now try to remember to close the garage door during the day and always to close the patio doors at night. We've got the bears, where's Goldilocks?
The President keeps pushing his efforts to "tax the rich." I don't want to tax their income, I want them to spend it, and stimulate the economy.
