BEAUTIFUL B UT COLD MORNING
A TRIBUTE TO MARK
REFLECTIONS
Thursday, 9:30 AM. 37 degrees, up from 26 degrees at 7:00 AM. Wind W, calm. Lucky and I went to the beach this morning, which is gorgeous even if a little chilly.
Yesterday evening there was a wonderful memorial tribute to Mark Musolf, who died in a car accident a year ago at Christmas time, held at the Chateau Boutin. I have eulogized Mark before, and will only add that he was one of the nicest people I have ever known, and very important to the State and our Bayfield community. The event was sponsored by the Bayfield Regional Conservancy, and the turnout was even larger that I might have anticipated.
I find it amazing how quickly things which were once prized can become commonplace and ignored or worse, such as Canada geese. When I was young they were relatively rare and considered icons of the wild, and today we often consider them to be pests. These two geese pictured are beautiful birds in a beautiful place, common or not.
