Thursday, New Year’s Day, 9:00 AM. Wind S, calm, changed from W and blustery. The sky is overcast and it had been snowing but has stopped. The sun is trying to peek through the clouds, creating a pretty parade of silver-lined clouds.
I will consider the clouds with their silver linings as a propitious omen for the new year…and, why not? It is much better to be optimistic and risk disappointment, than to be pessimistic and overlook opportunity. Invigorated by a long walk, we hopefully wish everyone a “Happy New Year.”
We are looking forward to a few days visit by Andy and Judy Larsen, and the latest news of their son Eric’s trek to the South Pole.
