5/16/10 A JOB WELL DONE IS ITS OWN REWARD

ANOTHER GORGEOUS DAY
ROCK WALLS AND NATIVE PLANTS SOFTEN THE LANDSCAPE
SEASONAL COLOR AND REDUCED MAINTENANCE
SATISFIED CUSTOMERS IN FRONT OF THEIR NEW, INFORMAL ROSE GARDEN

Sunday, 8:30 AM. Wind SSW, calm. The sky is blue. The waters are like glass, the reflections of Madeline Island trees stretching far out across the channel. The barometer predicts partly cloudy skies.
Yesterday was devoted to finalizing landscape jobs, all of which have turned out quite well. A year long project over on Catholic Hill has turned out particularly nice, the owners very pleased. The concept for this old but extensively remodeled Bayfield residence was to blend formal and informal areas and architectural elements in a pleasing way, reduce maintenance, and have a succession of bloom and color, especially when the retired owners are at home. A job well done is is own reward.
We are going to Duluth today for some recreational shopping and lunch at The Olive Garden. Tomorrow we will finish planting the city trees.
