PEAK BAYFIELD FALL COLOR THIS WEEKEND

NATIONAL FOREST ROAD

HAYFIELD AND WOODLANDS ON HWY. C

DELTA DINER...GREAT SANDWICHES AND MALTS

RED MAPLE AND QUAKING ASPEN ON HWY. G

BARN AND WOODS ON HWY. C
Saturday,  7:15 AM.  44 at the ferry dock, 42 on the back porch.  Wind WSW, light.   The sky is clear, the humidity 87%.  The barometer is falling, predicting the possibilities of showers for Monday (that would save a watering of our recent planting job)
It was such a gorgeous afternoon yesterday that we decided to take a drive to the Delta Diner, an out-of-the-way treat.  The fall color was spectacular and the food great.  We split a PBLT (a lake perch, bacon and lettuce sandwich) and each had a strawberry malt, that we should have split one of as well.  The food was delicious and overly generous, but a little on the pricy side.  That's O.K., as it is only a few times a year that we make the trip.
This weekend there should be full fall color in the Bayfield region.
