Friday, 8:30 AM. 11 degrees. Wind NW, calm. The channel is freezing over, the sky is clear except for clouds in the east, and the barometer predicts partly cloudy skies.
Yesterday while going to the post office I swung past the municipal dock, and in the wind and swirling snow there was quite a bit of activity taking place. Several commercial fishing boats were in, unloading their catches, and the Coast Guard was practicing ice rescue. There's always something going on in Bayfield.
