THE ICING ON THE LAKE
LOOKS LIKE SNOW
ALL DUSTED AND IN ORDER
Tuesday, 8:30 AM. 15.5 degrees, wind W, very light, but with snow clouds moving at a pretty good clip high up out of the NNW. The channel is iced over again, and Sherman says ten days to freeze-up. The sky is mostly filled with snow clouds and that is the barometer’s prediction, although not the weatherman’s.
So far the New Year is off to a pretty good start. The Christmas Tree is down. The office/library is cleaned up and ready for work, the books are all dusted and put in order, the guns cleaned and oiled and put away. The smell of polish and oil is very pleasant, bespeaking of care and order. The greater challenge now is to dust the cobwebs out of the old brain, organize one’s thoughts and oil the mental gears.
Lucky goes to the vet today to get his shots updated and a physical exam. Like his master, he will be told he is overweight and should be on a diet. We will both ignore such unwelcome suggestions.
