THINGS AREN'T ALWAYS WHAT THEY SEEM

LOOK CLOSELY
ANTARCTIC BASE?  WINTER OLYMPICS!

WITH A LITTLE IMAGINATION IT'S...

 ...A MILE HIGH MOUNTAIN RANGE!
Monday,  8:30 AM. 68 degrees F, wind WNW, very light.  The sky is cloudless with some haze, the humidity is 74%, and the barometer predicts partly cloudy skies.  It will be a nice summer day.
Yesterday morning while walking the dog I spied this fine buck in a backyard on 11th St.  But, look closely; it is a very realistic bow hunting target.  Things aren’t always what they seem.
Cruising the back roads yesterday afternoon near Port Wing we saw a strange apparition, reminiscent of a Winter Olympics scene of some sort, or perhaps the US Antarctic base.  Turns out it was some farmer fun taken to rather great lengths; huge truckloads of agricultural lime dumped and waiting  to be spread onto the fields. Each topped with an American flag.  The joke was named Mount Lime, but its elevation is more like one thousand feet, rather than six thousand.  Can’t always believe what you are told, either.
