GLASS BOTTOM BOAT BOTTOM LINE

VIEWING WELL OF GLASS BOTTOM BOAT

SAND ISLAND SEA CAVES

SAND ISLAND LIGHTHOUSE
Sunday,  9:00 AM.  70 degrees F, wind variable direction, calm to light.  The sky is mostly overcast the humidity 88%.  the barometer is at 29.85".  We had a lot of rain last night, accompanied by much thunder and lightening.  Today looks like a toss-up.
Daughter Eva and grandkids Nick and Katie took a cruise yesterday on the glass-bottom boat Superior Princess. The tour was first offered last summer, so it is a relatively new venture. It was a three hour trip which took them to Raspberry and Sand Island, among other places.  Joan and I stayed home, myself trying to catch up on yard and garden work, so this is a second hand report.
It rained much of the trip, so the water was turbid and only one of three scheduled ship wreck visits could be made.  the glass bottom of the boat is a series of windows at the bottom of a viewing well, the passengers leaning over a railing to see through them.  The one shipwreck they could see was evidently interesting enough, and  reportedly the trip was a good sight-seeing cruise, even without more sunken treasures.  The water was calm enough that they got close to the lighthouses and the sea caves.
Bottom line: a good trip for the money, and the one ship wreck was a bonus.  Cost, $30 adult, $15 child.
