6/5/11 BAYFIELD GARDEN TOUR

Sunday, 7:00 AM.  55 degrees, wind E changing to SE, calm.  the sky is blue and the barometer predicts the same.  Yesterday was a perfect day  for the walking tours of local gardens, and todayit will be as fine a day for the driving tour of the gardens which were not open but can be viewed from a vehicle.  Bayfield is very much a gardening community, and everyone has done themselves proud this year.  It has been a late spring and all the spring and early summer plants are blooming together in a fine horticultural medley.
Late tulips are still blooming, flowering crab apples are at their peak, lilacs and other shrubs have begun to bloom.  I think next year we will have to concentrate on targeted advertising to be sure we attract the number of visitors such a display deserves. For the sake of brevity I will let the photos speak for themselves.
