CELEBRATING SUMMERS END

JUDY LARSEN FLIPPING PANCAKES
Monday, 9:00 AM.  64 degrees F at the ferry dock, 59 on the back porch.  Wind variable and calm. Sky cloudy and overcast, humidity 77% after a thunderstorm left a trace of rain last night.  The barometer is rising, currently at 29.82", predicting clearing, but with a chance of rain on Wednesday.
Summer's end was marked Sunday with a neighborhood breakfast hosted by Andy and Judy Larsen at their summer kitchen.   All was delicious, and served with friendship and homemade maple syrup.
We also had great news at at church; Christ Church Episcopal will henceforth be open all year 'round, rather than just during the summer months, a major step forward.
Add to that the Brewers beating the Cubs in the afternoon and a good Packer/Vikings game in the evening (the Pack lost, unfortunately) and it was a good day, despite an aching left arm.  The week forward will be a busy one, with a landscape job to install. No physical work for me, supervisory only, as my left arm is still in a sling.
